If you’re trying to save money, I recommend joining friends or coworkers when they go out, but ordering a Diet Coke or a water instead of an alcoholic drink. You’ll still get the same social interaction, but without enduring the high prices. Plus, like you said, your friends will love you for volunteering to be the designated driver.

I do plan a night out and that is usually after I am finish with my work. This serves as a reward for myself, but I do know my limitations.
