hell yeah dude – love to hear that! congrats on all the big moves over there! even if you do end up getting bored you can always go and pick up work again, and i bet it would be something you’re super into to :) i’m always picking up stuff here and there just for fun or interest or some side cash. Awesome post! When I hear Empire of Dirt, I think of Johnny Cash’s cover of Hurt by Nine Inch Nails…Legend. It’s been a long time, but I still frequent your old Net Worth posts (especially with the meltdown lately..haha) and MMM. Before I “met” you guys I was financially lost too, but not only did I hit my number I blew past it. I never thought such a thing could be possible. I will always thank the both of you for that. I finally let the job go this year. I was only hanging on for two reasons. The feeling of “safety” with the paycheck, but mostly the fear of being bored/lonely. But then I thought, hey, this is just life’s next transition and I’m happily figuring out this next puzzle. And If it came down to it, I sure as hell would rather drop dead (hopefully not) in my sunny garden of flowers rather than sitting in my car in a mind/body numbing commute. So right on Earl! Keep it up. brother!!

In reply to Tom. Thanks for the kind words. Yeah I was buying silver after 08 and like a dope i stopped.. As far as quitting smoking , I learned when I was at home with my newborn son that you can't smoke em if you don't got em. I ran out and couldn't really leave to go get them with a newborn and twin 2 year olds and a wife recovering from c-section. 1 day turned into 2 and 2 to 3 and suddenly I was a non smoker.

Love your journey! ‘Kill the vices’ is big. I’ve bought what I hope (yet again) is my last box of nicotine lozenges. Short term, that amount will go to silver coins, long term, VTI is the most likely destination. It all adds up!
